Holly is an unselfish leader for the Lady Cardinals, helping them go 2-1 last week. Forbes had a subpar game at #23 Vincennes (98-62 loss) with 6 pts, 5 rebs and 6 assists, but rebounded well with a big games at Southeastern Illinois with 22 pts, 4 rebs, 2 stl and 2 assist, a 78-45 win, and at home vs. Arkansas Baptist with 32 pts 16 rebs, 4 stl, and 2 assist, winning 77-66. In this game Holly was 14-15 from the field (94%), missing only one shot, her last.

Holly Forbes of Mineral Area College
Player of the Week (December 11-17)
25 points, 8 rebs, 2 assists, 2 stls, 75% FG (12-16), 50 % FT (1-2), 36 min. in 81-79 road loss to John A. Logan
Holly continues to lead by example with her solid defense and clutch shooting, in addition to being a force to be reckoned with as a slightly undersized 5'9" Power Forward/Post Player. Her 18 ppg, 9.2 rpg and 66.4% FG shooting will attest to that. At the start of last week, Forbes was in the top ten in 6 of the 9 region stat categories and was either 1st or 2nd in PPG, FG%, Rebounds and Steals. Holly leads the Lady Cardinals in points, rebounds, steals and  is second in assist.

Angelica Wiggins of Moberly Area CC
Player of the Week (January 8-14)

Angelica, a 5'9" SO G from Toronto, Canada has been a steady force all season in helping the Lady Greyhounds to an umemplemished start (18-0). In their two games last week Wiggins was instrumental in leading the Greyhounds to a couple of wins. Tuesday at DII #6 St. Louis CC, Wiggins poured in 18 points to go along with 3 rebounds and five assists in 31 minutes in the 94-79 victory. On Satruday at home against region rival Three Rivers, Angelica had a double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists in 30 minutes of game time in the Greyhounds 81-49 win to open region play.

Anisha George of Moberly Area CC
Player of the Week (January 15-21)
19 ppg, 13.5 rpg, 16-29 FG's (55.2%), 6-9 FT's (66.7%), added 3 blocked shots and 2 steals
It's no secret that Anisha has been a big part of her team's 22-0 start and #7 ranking. The 6'2 SO from St. Croix, V.I., leads the team in scoring (14.3 ppg), rebounding (8.6 per game) and FG% (67%), which also ranks 2nd in the nation. Moberly had two games against region opponents last week, a 67-51 victory at State Fair, and a 80-47 home win against Mineral Area with George recording 2 double-doubles. At State Fair, Anisha finished with 16 pts, 14 boards in 11 minutes. Against MAC she tallied 22 points, 13 boards, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in 25 min. Anisha also received POTW honors back in Week 4.

Carnethia Brown of Moberly Area CC
Player of the Week (January 22-28)

Carnethia continues to be a floor leader for the Lady Greyhounds with 4.3 apg and 3 spg (both top five in region and top 50 nationally), but since region play started this month, Brown has beefed up her offensive production. Only posting double figures 4 out of her first 13 games, she has scored double figures in 4 of the 5 games vs. region foes, a 15.2 ppg clip. Last week in 2 road wins, 71-41 at Jefferson, & 76-63 against Three Rivers, the 5'6" So G from Louisville, KY totalled 41 points, raising her season average to 11.5 ppg. In Poplar Bluff, she was 8-18 (4-8 from 3) and 3-3 FT's for a season high 23 points.

Anisha was dominant in Moberly's two games last week, both wins over region opponents. The 6'2" Sophomore Center from the Virgin Islands, posted a double-double in each game, now with 10 on the season. In a home win vs. Crowder, 66-53, she went 10-13 from the field (76.9%) adding one free throw in 2 attempts, finishing with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks in 26 minutes. In the 81-63 road conquest at Mineral Area, George continued her torrid shooting touch. She nailed 9 of her 11 FG attempts (81.8%) and went 3 for 4 from the stripe, totaling 21 points, to go along with 11 boards, 1 steal and 3 blocked shots in 26 minutes. Anisha leads the region in FG% (68.7-2nd in nation) and rebounding average (8.6-48th in nation), 2nd in ppg (14.9), and 3rd in bpg (1.8). This is the third time Anisha has been recognized as Region 16 Player of the Week.

The Lady Cardinals beat Jefferson College in their only game last week, 65-44, in Hillsboro. Holly was key in keeping upset minded Jefferson from a home region win with her leadership and defensive dominance. Forbes recorded another double-double in the process scoring 17 points and gathering 11 misses, 10 of those from Lady Viking shots. The double-double was Holly's 6th of the season. She continues to lead the team in scoring (14.5 ppg), FG% (60.3), rebounds (8.1), steals (1.7), and tied in blocked shots (.6), and her FG% ranks 12th nationally.

Anisha George of Moberly Area CC
Player of the Week (February 12-18)    Fourth Time Recipient

Anisha's productivity and efficiency has been tremendous all year. Last week was no different in her team's two games, as the #5 Lady Hounds kept their perfect record in tact. Moberly handled Penn Valley, 72-55 in Kansas City, as George popped in 16 points (8 of 10 FG's) and found 7 rebounds in just 12 minutes of action. In a home win verses rival State Fair CC (74-51), George punched the clock for 25 minutes and found the bottom of the net on 6 of her 9 shots, cashed in 12 boards, 2 blks, a steal and an assist, her 11th dbl-dbl of the season. The win was the team's 27th in a row, tying the school record and clinched their first MCCAC Championship in their second season. Her season FG accuracy of 68.5% leads the region and ranks 2nd nationally. In other region stat categories, George leads in rebs. (8.5 p/g), tied for 1st in scoring average (15.2) and 2nd in blocked shots (1.9).
